12 Week Life Skills Programme Piloted July 2025
The Jamie Simpson Trust’s 12week Life Skills Programme was designed to inspire and empower young people aged 8–18 by offering accessible, inclusive learning opportunities that build confidence, spark creativity and develop practical skills for future employment. While we cannot change a young person’s environment, we aim to equip them with the tools, mindset and resilience to recognise opportunities and make positive choices.
Our Aims
Inspire and empower: Provide meaningful opportunities for young people in Derby to explore their strengths and develop skills that enhance their lives.
Be accessible and inclusive: Prioritise young people who may be financially or emotionally disadvantaged, ensuring equal access to supportive learning experiences.
Develop practical and creative skills: Offer taster sessions across a range of creative and lifeskill topics to build confidence, curiosity and personal growth.
Prepare for future employment: Equip young people with transferable skills and knowledge that support readiness for the world of work.
